What is Thanksgiving
Nothing but Black Friday Eve
Prelude to Christmas
Our culture sold for profit
Our history up for grabs
We’ve become hollow
Freely giving up our souls
To the next slick ad
Our materialism
What does this say about us

Amen to that! I went to the store last weekend… One isle full of Halloween, the Second full of Thanksgiving, and on the 3rd, they were already setting up for Christmas! What the heck? It’s all about profit and greed unfortunately…. but here’s the thing…. amongst the displays of Holiday ‘stuff’ were lots of people filling their shopping carts full of it. Demand and Supply…. the consumer drives this madness.
I suppose that they do, but it just shows the lack of self-control on the part of the American public to change what they know is wrong. Sadly, truth-be-told there was a time that I fell into this trap. Fortunately I came to my senses.

So true. A little sickened that I’m seeing Black Friday stuff already.
The corporate greed of the Holiday season seems to get earlier each year, its disgusting, but obviously we are just gullible.
Terrifying too. Christmas kicked in on Labor Day at a few places. Ho Ho Ho has a slightly different meaning some times. Poor, Santa.
Yes sir, that is terrifying, I’m glad I didn’t see that here. If it was occurring here maybe I just ignored it.
I try my best. Takes a lot of willpower.
It does take a lot of willpower, I will give you that.
Overcommercialization of the holidays starts when, now?–in September? Thanksgiving is only meaningless, if we, as individuals, let it be that way.
You are right, I noticed my first Christmas commercial on Halloween night, they just keep getting earlier and earlier and we as a population buy into their greed as if they are doing us a favor. Shame on us for allowing it to happen.
More like Thankstaking
Indeed. 🙂
