Seedling rears its head
Excited for the day’s sun
Just like a child

Seedling rears its head

Just like a child

Mysteries abound
Simply look out your window
And see the wonders
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
In blissful silence
I sit simply listening,
Breathing in the sounds.
Tell me…how long has it been
Since I relished birds singing,
Crickets in summer,
The first flakes of winter’s snow
Wind rustling leaves.
It has been far, far too long
Since I’ve reached out to nature.
Too busy with life,
I seem to have forgotten
What is beautiful.
Perhaps it’s time to slow down
And take in God’s creation.

O’ the beauty, the warmth of the sun,
The bluest of blue skies, whitest of clouds floating on hidden breezes.
What worries do I have when surrounded by the Divine’s Creations?
Temporal pains hold no sway in the face of Heaven’s glorious perfection.
I gripe over aches, aging, suffering and death
Spending my life in pity over the trivial.
But why?
Is not peace and joy spread out before me,
Have I not been granted five senses for their pleasure?
What has been given proves to be insufficient,
An incessant want pervades my very being.
This ego drives me to horde ever more of the materialistic…
I am weak!
Lying back in the tall green grass I marvel at Heaven,
Watching birds of all variety crisscross its expanse.
Wondering…Perhaps they know the answer,
Living simply and in the moment,
Requiring nothing, but food and shelter.
Wasn’t this what was endowed to us by the Creator, In The Beginning
Until the day our egos drove us to sin.
Maybe it is time I step back,
Taking time to look for that little spark that burns within
…That is God.

Summer’s heat, July
Birds…bees sing their joyful songs
By nature’s design.
Sadly we too oft’ ignore
Beauty that lay before us.
Distracted by life
All just to try to survive
We get very lost.
Perhaps if we took a step back
What we’re missing would be found.
Look to the sky, grass,
Look to the simplicity in life
For what’s important.
This is what Mother gave us
To keep from going insane.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Crack…sound of thunder
Explosion like fireworks
Honoring nature
Rain…confetti showering
Crystal sparks upon the earth
What is more lovely
Than the beauty and power
Of Heaven above
She pauses to remind us
When we get too arrogant
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Sky, canvas of blue
Bespectacled by wondrous birds
Melody of song
Sung naturally without urge
So often ignored by man
O’ the things we miss
Rushing in our meager lives
How terribly sad
Perhaps taking a moment
We’d realize what’s important
.

Grey and sullen day
Sun muted by heaven’s cloak
From window chairs view
Birds and bees care little
Refusing to deviate
A glorious show
Playing out on natures stage
Standing ovation
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Web of the spider
Miraculous and deadly
In its complex weave
A Hunter extraordinaire
Cloaked in beautiful fabric
.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Look all around you
Don’t you see the Master’s work
Artists perfection
