Mankind’s Christ child
Born to save us from ourselves
Will we never learn

The end is no end.
Throughout life we sense the past,
A time before our time,
We call it deja vu.
We’ve been here,
We’ve met before,
But we cannot place when or where.
Is this just a sense
Or a glimpse into a time before our time.
Could we not be going round-and-round,
Traveling time until we get it right,
Coming back and back
Until we perfect our journey?
Perhaps God requires us to earn our right
To join him in Heaven,
Learning over the centuries and lifetimes
The things only time can teach.
We are flawed creatures,
Attracted to sin,
Given to the allure of its pleasures.
Like children, we must learn our lessons
Under the tutelage of God,
Before we can be admitted into His
Kingdom of Heaven.

I sat to pray
And screams of hate
Shattered the peace.
I question what I believe!
How can I prescribe to something
That judges…most un-Christlike,
The heart and soul of another;
Claiming to know the mind of God
And to speak with certain authority
On His behalf.
How hypocritical this seems!
Christ did not judge the beggar,
Nor the Samaritan;
He loved them both
And that was his lesson.
Sadly, you seem to have been deaf,
For you judge, most cruelly
Those that do not fit your view.
You proclaim to the Heavens your Christianity,
But clearly have forgotten the words of Christ
Written so plainly in Mark 12:31:
“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
There is none other commandment greater than these.”
Surely you must be filled with self-loathing,
For treating another soul with such contempt
Defies God’s most precious command.

Songs of the Angels
Found in every Christmas carol
Harbingers of peace
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Joyous time of year
Hang the lights and deck the halls
Go–Give and receive
But remember the meaning
Keeping the Christ in Christmas
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
He’s called many names
God, Rom, Allah, Krishna, Christ
All are names of peace
It’s man who is violent
Not the Gods whom they worship

Thirst stinging my throat;
Dust and grime choke me of air.
Breathing is labored.
Thirsting for an oasis
I will drink sand to survive.
Could this be blind faith,
Utopia found in sand;
Trusting you’ll be quenched?
Isn’t this what religions
Teach is the only path to God?

Today…a fresh start
The living Christ has risen
As a reminder
Each year a chance to return
Him to his sacred namesake
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Carrying the instrument of your own death
Jeering crowds spitting and taunting as you go
Forgive them Father for they know not what they do
Cried with sincerity for these misguided souls
Even in this ultimate humiliation
Your faith never faltered
And by that we have been saved
…How could you not love Him
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Colossal mistake
Of Biblical proportions
Unforgivable
Most vilified of mortals
Christ’s Judas Iscariot
