How can I complain,
With food, shelter and clothing
A place to call home.
I am not ravaged by war,
Despised by much of the world.
This joyous season
Take the time to remember…
We are truly blessed.

Fear masquerading–
A disguise for the hatred
Lodged in feeble minds.
Isolationism calls
To quell the terror within.
Still you don’t see it,
You are giving them the win
And emboldening.
While we can’t change our sordid past
We can and must change our future
For the good of all mankind.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Humanity cast aside by irrational fears
Are men, women and children to be left to die in the cold
To perish with no way forward and no way back
Reality supplanted by racism your justification
Every one of you should be ashamed
Demonizing what you don’t understand
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Barbed wire gauntlet
Raised to stem the human tide,
Too much too quickly.
Balancing fear with chaos…
Another iron curtain.
Displaced and hopeless,
Longing for Europe’s safety,
Left in no-man’s land.
