Out in the Cold

Glazed streets,

Reflection of street lamps blinding.

~~

Snowflakes fall,

Unique and ghostly frightening.

~~

Steam grates bellow,

Clouds of white coagulate in the night.

~~

Sidewalk frigid,

Stiff and frozen to the bone.

~~

Passersby laugh,

Homeless and so alone.

~~ D. R. DiFrancesco ~~

poor tramps…… live a miserable life…it’s a pity that passerby laughs and doesn’t share the grief…or reduces the pain.. :-(

It is so sad to see this occurring in what arguably is the wealthiest country on earth.

I really like the staccato cadence and succinct style of this poem.

I’m not sure why but this writing style has a very comfortable and familiar feel to me, it is to the point and very crystalline.

    Steve.
