I lie…

Down with myself in the darkness

Unable to decipher the meaning of my life.

~

I lie…

To myself just as I always have,

Pretending to be something I am not.

~

I lie…

To others by hiding behind a mask and a smile,

Showing them what they want to see not who I am.

~

I lie…

Everytime I deny my dreams their breath

Leaving them to choke in the pool of my mind.

~

Is stifling our hopes and dreams truly living,

Making the unsatisfying our lifes work?

Were we not born to rise to our own vision of greatness

Not for financial gain alone, but for our God given passions sake?

~

I lie…

But I am trying to bury my fears,

Trying to live the dreams that I was born to realize.

      That is very true. We tend to let disappointments squash our dreams even when we know that we shouldn’t. I know that it is something I work to overcome daily.

    Sometimes the “truth” is too cruel. Sometimes the lies we tell ourselves are the medicine we need to survive. And … aren’t our dreams as much a part of us as our day-to-day reality? Never give in … never give up … never!

      I believe that being ourselves and never relinquishing our dreams is the key being fulfilled in this finite life. “Never give in…never give up…never!” is the motto that we all should try to live. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be ups and downs, but the downs should be viewed as simple stumbling blocks on our way to realizing our dreams. Thanks Jen, you clearly got what I was trying to convey. :)
