Given Any Choice (Tanka)

Given any choice
It would be no choice at all
You would be the one
Though we are separated
My heart chooses only you

A touching one, it makes me think of my son and his wife who have long seperations when he is at sea.

I’m glad, it is hard to be away from someone you love for long periods of time, but it can also be a blessing making the reunions all the more special. Thank you my friend.

This is a beautiful poem. Think this is really the day to think of such things.

Thanks Charles, I thought so, I am trying to return to the true meaning of the days. I am so disgusted by the commercialism of today that I’m finding it necessary. I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. :)

We had fun, but the toddler had a fever. So, it was a low key event. Today was just relaxing with a friend to gather my energies for a busy weekend.

Sorry for the late reply Charles, its been a busy holiday weekend. I hope your son is feeling better and I’m glad that you got to relax over the holiday, we all need that sometimes.

The little guy is doing much better. Been busy with the book debut today. Hoping tomorrow eases up enough to let me write a bit.

You can only do so much, anyway I hope things settle down a bit for you so that you can get back to writing. Don’t let the stress of the book debut get to you, I’m sure that it is nerve wracking.

It was more a lot of work to get all the advertising stuff out. Now, I have to stop checking my numbers every 10 minutes.

I can understand even though I haven’t personally been through it. I would probably do the same thing checking every 10 minutes. Really that is the only barometer of how well the book is doing. Hang in there the season is young.

Thanks. Looking good so far, but the poor second book is developing a Middle Child Syndrome. I’m guessing it will get a mid-month boost.

Lovely poem. Reminds me of how I feel whenever my husband and I are apart.

Thank you very much, same with my wife and I, I suppose that this is how it should be when we are separated from people we love.
