To those gone without a trace,
What were your last thoughts?
What did you see?
What did you here?
To the Atheists, did you find God?
To the Christians, did you ask Christ to save you?
To the Muslims, did Allah forgive you your sins?
This is not an indictment,
I would asked for all of this and so much more.
Did you feel abandoned?
Did your life flash before your eyes?
Did you see the faces of loved ones?
Did you hear the laughter of your children?
Surely I would have felt all of these things.
These questions bring me to tears.
I don’t know what I would think as I sat helpless,
And in the end would it really matter
In the face of impending doom?
These answers float on the wind,
And drift with the changing tides,
In places without names, undiscovered.
Know that wherever you are,
We think about you,
Hoping that your final rest is in peace.
Lost at sea.

So very sad Dom.
Yes it is, I feel so bad for those that are lost and their families.
Very thought provoking. Made me think about several near-death incidents. In one incident, the car in which I rode, was nearly out-of-control at 75mph in the grassy median. It could have gone either way. My words to my wife–“I love you and if we don’t come out of this–it’s been nice knowing you,”
Wow, that would surely one realize how precious and short life is. Thankfully you both survived to tell about it.
So sad. Especially the without a trace part. Right now – my sil messaged me about a girl who her son grew up with that went missing. I hope they find her & that she is ok. She told me that she was suicidal too. 😦
Oh how sad RoSy, I really do hope that they find her and that she is okay then maybe they can get her the help she needs.
Sad but full of meaning.
I lost someone dear to me a few days ago and I must admit, it left me reflecting on a lot of my life principles. I find myself thinking of dreams cut short, of what happens after we cross over.
Thank you for writing this for me Dom.
It is my absolute pleasure and I really am very sad for your lose. This is something that I think about very frequently as well, but then again I would imagine that we all do one time or another. Stay strong my friend.
