Silence does not mean I don’t care.
Perhaps I’m stifling a self-righteous opinion
Or maybe I’m just listening like a good friend does.
I don’t have all the answers nor are any required.
Your questions are rhetorical,
Simply statements to self,
You already know the answers.
It isn’t my place to judge,
Only to offer advice when asked for it,
My judgemental days are over.
I don’t walk in your shoes,
I don’t feel what you feel,
I haven’t lived your life,
Struggled your struggles,
Traveled your rutted path.
Instead I offer my silence
…As a show of love and support.

Wonderful! Your sentiment so eloquently, beautifully polished and delivered. A delicate yet sharp and precise move. I loved it!
Sadly, such common sense, and restrain is afforded to a very few. The rest are loud, shouting out their ignorance, judgement and non factual opinions.
This is something that I think we all struggle with and I am trying to act this way with my adult children. They need to find their own way in this world and do what they think is best for them, not what is best for me, that is the key to being happiness. Therefore I try not to be judgmental about their decisions, not an easy thing to do. Thank you so much for your kind comment, I truly appreciate it.
