I Cannot Think

I cannot think

My mind is scattered

Bleeding, filling my cranial sink

Thoughts are shredded, left in tatters

Puzzle pieces, pieces missing

Torn away from stem

Cold then hot my fires hissing

In hopes of penning another gem

Inspired–no

My brain’s a scramble

It’s best I go

To end this ramble

‘Til the time we meet anew

I hope to have my thoughts arranged

Who knows what my mind will brew

From words right now that are so estranged

I suppose that it happens to all of us from time to time, it’s nice to know that I’m not alone. :)

Looks to me like you had your words very together!

Well thank you, I just didn’t feel inspired at all during the weekend, but I’m hoping to write my way out of this. :)

You’re having one of those days too, huh?

    1. Dom DiFrancesco Avatar

Absolutely, the whole weekend was that way, I’m going to try writing myself out of it and see what happens. :)

Same here. I’m still trying to get used to a new schedule that requires being solely responsible for my son’s breakfast, getting to the bus, getting off the bus, homework, dinner, and cleaning. Apparently, taking a hose to him a the end of the day is only enjoyed by him. Everyone else frowns upon it.

It isn’t an easy job taking care of an active child and trying to keep the house running as smoothly as possible. It’s amazing that you can find any time to write at all, but you do…amazing. You are a better man than I and more organized as well. :)

Think it helps that I’m editing these days. I end up feeling exhausted by mid-afternoon though. Even weekends aren’t helping for some reason.

With your schedule it sounds like you’ve put a full day in by the time noon rolls around.

Certainly feels like it. Though I’m one-on-one with the kid from Thursday to Friday, so we’ll see what happens on those days. Need to figure out how to keep him occupied while I cook.

I think I actually hibernated the weekend. I felt so drained and my brain like mush…maybe I needed the mental and physical shut down. your slump is not showing :)

Thank you for saying so. I can sympathize with your weekend, I just couldn’t get motivated. I will be taking a few days off starting tomorrow so hopefully that will give me time to recharge. Thank you for the comment my friend. :)

I recognize that feeling/thought too! You write so often. It is fine for you to take a break and do something completely different!!!! :)

Well over the next few days I probably will be a bit absent. I may schedule a few things, but I probably won’t be around much until Sunday.

I hope you are going to do things that you enjoy!
