To feel the soil
Rich and warm between fingers
Man planting his seed
Nurturing healthy body
With the fruits of his labor
For millennia
This was mans way to survive
Living off the land
We’ve lost our time tested path
Through the chaos–modern life

Gardening is a matter of your enthusiasm holding up until your back gets used to it.
You are absolutely correct. I was outside doing some of this over this past weekend and my back does really hurt. Out of shape I guess. 🙂
Makes me think of Jethro Tull’s “Heavy Horses” too. Lost that connection to the animals and the land both …..
I think that most of us have, but I’m trying to turn that around just a bit by planting vegetable gardens. I don’t have the property for animals (other than our 5 dogs), but at least I feel like I’m doing something. 🙂
Yes we have and we may just get back to it!
I hope that we do, I’m trying very hard with some success. 🙂
But there are many who are trying to re-find those skills.
And that is a very good thing, I hope that they do as it would be better for all of us. 🙂
This goes right along some of what I said yesterday. I like the “chaos-modern” life. Great description.
Thank you very much Richard, I’m glad. 🙂
