Look what I’ve become
Politics made me rigid
Intolerant me
~
Opposing views annoy me
Bringing out my darker side
~
And I have to say
I don’t like it one little bit
It disappoints me

I don’t like the idea of rigidity nor feeling intolerant of others freedom. But I can relate to the anger at ignorance which sounds so unlike me!

I not generally this way, only when it comes to politics and I know that it is totally wrong. I find the best ways to deal with this is first, not to listen to politics on the radio or television and secondly and most important, don’t talk about politics…unfortunately I have difficulty following these rules as evidenced by some of my poetry. I guess all I can do is to keep trying.

There was a time I was straitlaced, but not so much anymore. I find that I am getting far more liberal with age.

I try to keep it under check though sometimes I fail miserably. :)

You’re right. Politics makes people anxious. I see this every day around me

It certainly does and I really don’t like being that way. I am generally a very mild mannered person, but I find myself rigid when it comes to my political views.

It’s nice to know I’m not alone, but it aggravates me that I take this so personally.

It was for this very reason that when I was a child nobody was willing to discuss either their religion or their politics with anybody except the closest of kin or friends.

We were the same way growing up, politics and religion were not polite to talk about sometimes even with the closest of kin or friends. Thank you John.
