Kissed by the gentlest wind
Graceful butterfly

Smell of flowers surrounds me

Summer’s heat, July
Birds…bees sing their joyful songs
By nature’s design.
Sadly we too oft’ ignore
Beauty that lay before us.
Distracted by life
All just to try to survive
We get very lost.
Perhaps if we took a step back
What we’re missing would be found.
Look to the sky, grass,
Look to the simplicity in life
For what’s important.
This is what Mother gave us
To keep from going insane.

Dandelion grows
Is it a flower or weed
I really don’t know
With its color so golden
Tis beautiful none-the-less

Buzzing in my ear
Bees busy pollinating
Nothing to be feared

Flowers erupt from ancient granite
Butterflies float effortlessly as if on a cloud
Hummingbirds drink of sweet sweet nectar
Caring not if of hand or nature’s bloom
How odd in this hellish landscape
The thriving and blossoming of such beauty
Living harmonious amongst rattler and scorpion
Such contradictions, these unlikely bedfellows
Each with their own Divine purpose
Who are we to question this perfection
Perhaps this is the model for man to live by
A lesson that has been before us for eternity
But we were too blind or too arrogant to see
.

Butterflies and bees
Swarm the rainbow of flowers

Blown dandelions
Scatter their seeds to the wind
Populating earth

From my window I look;
Trees, mountains, flowers
All manner of things stare back at me
Though seldom do I notice.
Caught between the necessities of modern life
And the blindness of adulthood,
I’ve forgotten how wondrous my surroundings.
Rushing from place to place,
Highways, freeways, traffic shifts my focus.
Technology diverts my attention,
Cell phones, computers, television, video games,
No wonder we live in a chemically induce coma.
Time to appreciate the natural world seems impossible,
Finding excuses instead to perpetuate our unfulfilling lives.
How does this make any sense?
Our time in this beautiful world is short,
Time with our loved ones is most precious.
Perhaps the power button is our best friend,
Turn it off.
That vacation time we are saving
As we edge ever closer to a heart attack…
Maybe we should take it.
Step outside, take a deep breath
And enjoy the most beautiful video game ever created
…Nature.
