Its a dark closet,
Door shut,
Bolt fixed,
Lock turned.
Reaching above the door frame,
Skeleton key missing.
Clanging of metal tells the tale.
You’ve locked yourself inside,
Stolen the key.
Don’t you want rescue,
To be saved,
Freed from this dungeon?
In an instant
Lights go out.
No sign of life beneath locked door.
All is quite,
Retreating to the recesses of your mind.

Been there, done that, lost the key decades before! Glad to have company 😉
You most certainly aren’t alone, not only have I lost my key, but also my marbles. 🙂
Wow you had marbles??? I never even had marbles to begin with… (pouting) LOL
I guess I did, but since I lost my mind, I really can’t remember. By the way, if you happen to come across any of my marbles I would appreciate getting them back. 🙂
but… but… even the aggie?? it’s soooooo pretty (bottom lip quivering)
Okay…okay, you can keep the aggie if it means that much to you, I don’t want to make you cry…I don’t deal with crying very well. LOL! 🙂
Okay I’ll keep the aggie, but trade you for my yo-yo… I suck at yo-yo’ing anyway LOL
Sounds like a fair trade to me, I always loved the yo-yo…I think the first thing I will do is “Walk-the-Dog”. 🙂
Great writing! It reminded me of a song by “Alice in Chains”.
Thank you very much, I glad that you enjoyed it. 🙂
That’s what can happen. Loved this one!
Thank you very much, unfortunately it occurs way too often with devastating effects.
i personally like my closet – it is safe in there and i do not have to let anyone in. but you are right – it is dark and the darkness gets tiring at times. xx
I don’t dislike my closet either, I have to have someplace to put my stuff. 🙂
