Anxieties Hold (Tanka)

Anxieties hold

Plunging headlong in darkness

Of my own doing

Tending to over-think things

Can only bring me trouble

This tanka describes me as of late. I had a bit of a meltdown today. I so desperately need 3/19 to come and go.

Hang in there Kimberly (I know its easier said than done), the date at least will pass. Just remember you aren’t supposed to forget him, you are who keeps his memory alive and that is a wonderful thing.

Yeah. Amazing how too much thinking can cause trouble.

It happens to me all the time. I tend not to react to things very quickly because I have to analyze everything over and over. Sometimes its frustrating.

It’s really hard to find the point where you stop thinking and start doing. Though some people find it easier than others.

Unfortunately this many times causes me not to act as I convince myself that acting is not in my best interest. This really is nothing more than fear.

Some days I think fear is the most powerful force on Earth.

I think that it is. If you think about how many things you didn’t do because you were afraid the numbers would be astounding.

Very frustrating when this happens *growls at over analysing*

I agree unfortunately this is something that I do all the time. I am however, putting a tremendous effort into changing this “habit”.

Sending up prayers–anxiety and over-thinking, part of being intelligent, sensitive, talented. Hope writing helps you–it does me.

It does help greatly. This is something that I inflicted on myself for years and I am just starting to be able to let it go. :)

Haha you described me…nice to see that there are a few like that…thank goodness writing helps to shut UP that mind sometimes.

This is something I have struggled with all of my life and have been working very hard at to minimize. It is an uphill battle and like you I’m glad that I am not alone in this.

I used to shut that brain off reading endlessly and now I am finding writing allows those thoughts to finally find its place. It is so emotionally and mentally healthy.

Yes it is, I have found myself suffering from this much less lately and for that I am thankful.
