It’s not the shopping
The shiny black Friday deals
Material wants
Created by corporate greed
For the bloating of coffers
It’s for gratitude
Communion with ones you love
Appreciation
Sadly we tend to forget
With every new commercial
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Yes, we tend to forget and make it all about the shopping and material possessions. Blessings.
Indeed we do and it is most disgraceful. Thank you my friend.
A pleasure.
I’m so glad, thank you.
The sales and commercials for said sales have been insane this year. Like they’re blatantly trying to absorb the holiday into retail hell.
You couldn’t be more correct. For the longest time we had “Black Friday” now it is bleeding heavily into Thanksgiving afternoon and as if that wasn’t enough we now have Cyber-Monday. What will be next…the obliteration of Thanksgiving altogether.
They actually used the term ‘Gray Thursday’ a few times this year. I can kind of get Cyber-Monday since there’s distance and it’s all on-line, so you don’t have the throngs of humanity. There’s also Small Business Saturday.
I suppose that pretty much any calendar day can have its own capitalistic significance if we really try. When will the madness stop. 🙂
When the zombie apocalypse happens. Even then you know someone is going to promote ‘Chainsaw Wednesday’ sales.
Oh you know they will. 🙂
One of the reasons I’ve grown to like watching things from Netflix is the lack of commercials.
I tend to record much of what I do like to watch so that at least I can speed through the commercials. It is amazing how little show there is in comparison to the commercials. Thanks Martha.
Enjoy Your Thanksgiving! May your holiday be joyful and may happiness surround it, with good things on your table and those you love around it!
Thank you so much Mihran, I did have a wonderful day.
This is so true. Beautiful and timely reminder.
Thank you so very much. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. 🙂
Right on Dom! Peace to you!
Thank you Nic, peace to you as well. 🙂
