Never enough death for their liking
Always responding with “more guns”
This never seems to solve anything
It simply exacerbates the problem
Our constitution was meant to be fluid
Not fixed in the past
As times change so must it change
Lest we be captive to our founders
Read Jefferson
In his infinite wisdom he prayed it to progress
Fitting the needs of future generations
Left to our own vices we have failed
Every time a death occurs with gun-in-hand
Aren’t the lives lost worthy of discussion
Society says it has progressed
Sadly…I do not see it
Only more violence met with the promise of violence
Calls for change go unheeded
Instead they are met with angry rhetoric
Attacking anyone who disagrees
Toughening of gun laws is not outrageous
It is common sense
Only a savage society would disagree
Now let the games continue

Dom, Great message if only we could make some progress on gun control. Just wanted to say hello! Phil
Hi Phil, I wish we could as well. I am by no means anti-gun as I am a gun owner as well, but the state I grew up and purchased these firearms required a thorough background check, a mandatory waiting period which I believe at the time was 10 days and the gun had to be registered. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with this, it didn’t affect my life in any adverse way and I never felt like my rights were being violated. Maybe out these tragedies some good can result in the way of reasonable gun legislation. I guess we will have to wait and see. Thank you my friend.
Brilliant Acrostic and timely!
I like to think so…really what else do we need to see in order to force us to make a change. Thanks Carol.
Wonderful acrostic and you’re so very right on this subject … let’s remember that they also allowed slavery and women (or illiterate and poor men for that matter) couldn’t vote … time we start realizing that guns are about money and these people could care two hoots about rights.
You are absolutely right Georgia, sadly…isn’t everything about the money.
It certainly seems that way … the surprising thing is that people just don’t seem to realize how little “common good” there actually is.
You are absolutely right Georgia, they really don’t.
Sigh …
Indeed Georgia…indeed.
You’re doing great work, blessings, my brother, Richard
Thank you so much Richard and blessings to you as well. Peace my friend.
