Snow covered meadow,
Footprints,
Invisible animals
The only signs of life.
How peaceful is winter’s blanket
From behind frosted window pane.
Harshness tempered by modernity
Heat, Wisp of steam
Floral scent of herbal tea filling the air.
Thankful to be witnessing
Beauty and cruelty,
From the comfort of home.

Wow ! Excellent way to show winter !
Thank you very much for saying so, I truly appreciate it. 🙂
Is it old where you are?
Actually no, I am originally from New Jersey and still have family back there so I decided to write about that given the storm they were having. Here in Arizona, it actually is pretty nice, 45-50 degrees in the morning and upper 60’s to low 70’s in the afternoon, who am I to complain. 🙂
It took me three days to get out of JFK this last weekend
Wow, that’s terrible, I hope that you made it back home unscathed. I’ve been out of the snow for almost 15 years, except for 2 weeks ago when I went to Flagstaff and got stuck on the I-17 during a snow storm. It was only a few inches, but there was ice underneath that was left over from the storm before. My 2 hour trip turned into 3 1/2 hours, but certainly nothing like a 3 day delay. I love snow, but it certainly wreaks havoc on travel.
The Nutley Diner in Nutley… Proof I was there:)
Indeed you were. 🙂
Yes, I saw a photo of a homeless person asleep in the snow in an eastern state, just imagine 😦
The east coast of the U.S. got the most snow and I’m certain that the homeless suffered terribly. This is where I am originally from the New York, New Jersey area. Thank you so much for your comment Gilly, I share your concerns.
