Heavenly Father
God to the three religions
Why are we fighting
Men look for reasons to hate
In Allah, Yahweh, God’s name

Your beliefs guide you…or misguide you
Like the dam trains the river.
We are born to know no hate,
No prejudice,
No racism,
No ascension of color,
This must be taught…instilled
By those who influence the young and malleable.
Children do not see difference,
To them a playmate is a playmate is a playmate
Until it is ruined by age.
O’ for us all to be children again,
Blind to race, creed and color
Returning the world to its purity,
Its wonder,
Its innocence,
Where we all would live in peace.

Fear masquerading–
A disguise for the hatred
Lodged in feeble minds.
Isolationism calls
To quell the terror within.
Still you don’t see it,
You are giving them the win
And emboldening.
While we can’t change our sordid past
We can and must change our future
For the good of all mankind.

Signs of things to come
Unrest all over the world
We reap what we sow

He’s called many names
God, Rom, Allah, Krishna, Christ
All are names of peace
It’s man who is violent
Not the Gods whom they worship

September’s blood moon
Expecting the End of Days
Words of pessimists

Fields of history
Strewn with blood and with corpses
Religions finest
Left to rot in their God’s sun
Could it be no one was right

Christianity…
Some claim it’s under attack,
An imagined war.
Practice whatever you please,
But don’t force it on others
I guess church and state
Are only kept separate
When it’s convenient.

Thirst stinging my throat;
Dust and grime choke me of air.
Breathing is labored.
Thirsting for an oasis
I will drink sand to survive.
Could this be blind faith,
Utopia found in sand;
Trusting you’ll be quenched?
Isn’t this what religions
Teach is the only path to God?

The disenfranchised
Looking to be powerful
Radicalism
Hopelessness and poverty
Feed this fast spreading cancer
Where does the blame lie
In the laps of governments
Religious fervor
Perhaps in weakness of mind
Our duty–cure the root cause
.
