God’s Symphony – A Tanka

Clouds gather around

Distant sound of thunder calls

Inviting the rain

A dance chaperoned by nature

Waltzing to God’s symphony

I love this – you combined two of my favorite things – symphony and dance:) Beautiful.

I love them both as well although I can’t dance to save my soul. :)

        Aha – you just need a good teacher – step 1, 2, 3…. step 1, 2, 3 …. dip, twirl and lift!

You are probably right although right now it would be more like – step 1,2,3…step 1,2,3…trip, stumble and fall! How embarrassing it would be. :)

Beautiful. Thunderstorms do sound like a loud symphony when you’re close enough to them.

They sure can, but they can also just plain scare the crap out of you when you aren’t ready for it. :)

And now my real comment. As I am always amazed by the raw talent you have with emotional poems, I need to ask you an opinion. Should all poetry collections be themed, or can you organise them randomly? Opinion please:)

Thank you Ionia for the really sweet comment and what a great question. I think you could probably create a poetry collection of random themes if they were the same form of poetry for example haiku or sonnets. That would give the collection some “glue” to hold it together. In the case of free verse or a combination of forms I would probably keep them of a like theme or do it in chapters with poems of similar themes so that the poems in the collection have something in common. This of course is just my opinion. I actually was thinking of putting together a collection of the tankas that I have written grouped into chapters or sections based on their themes hoping that it would work well that way.

I would certainly buy it and recommend it. I would love to have a physical book of yours. It would save my desktop lol

Thank very much for saying so, I know now that I could sell at least one copy. :)
