A Cold Kiss (Sonnet)

A cold kiss lay frozen on crimson lips

His tears could not thaw her icy chill

Thy soul to sea as fare so many ships

Whose lose pain could never fill

O’ slab, coarse for so delicate a flower

How I wish that I could soften thee

Yet I have it not in my mortal power

Into the hands of God must it be

Fairest maiden how I long to offer thou comfort

Though separated many worlds apart

Couldst I have quenched thy terminable hurt

Nay–sorrow be still my beating heart

.

O’ my dearest Juliet, I am dead to this world without thee

With this bitter nectar reunited soon we shall be

.

My pleasure. I was reading it on my smart phone at the coffee shop tonight and wanted to make a comment too but Im butter fingers on my phone. The poem is so darn nice…words any woman wants to hear:)

Thank you so much, I glad that you enjoyed it. I also agree with you about the smartphone, I have never sent a comment on posted from it, I just don’t find it comfortable to do.

        When I get a few lines that I don’t want to forget, I dictate it on draft…when the microphone obeys {sighs}

I do that, but I find myself going back to my laptop to actually write the comment or post. Maybe a bigger smartphone would make it easier for me.

I have the 4.5 inch Samsung Galaxy…got it for this reason…actually embarrassing to hold to one’s ear…use my earbuds. Enjoy reading blogs on it though.

Your phone is larger than mine, mine is a 4.3″ and bit older than yours. For my next one I am considering the 5.7″ Galaxy Note 3, that may be big enough for me. Fortunately I am tall and have big hands so I don’t know that its size will be much of a problem. Maybe then I will be able to type on it properly.

This could have been penned by the man himself.

Thank you so much, I am certainly not of his caliber, but it is nice of you to say. :)
