Wow. My grandmother made it to a 102 and passed away last October. Something about the age makes me proud more than sad.

Me too, yes I will miss her, but she was tired and it was her time. We both have grandmothers to be proud of in my opinion.

Thank you so much. This is one of those that things that brings both sadness for the loss and joy/pride in a life lived to its fullest. She will be missed.
Oh Dom, my condolences. The poem is lovely in itself, and a beautiful tribute to your grandma. Mine has been gone a very long time, and I’m eager to be reunited with her. (This loss must be why you seemed absent on the blog recently–I was concerned. Praying that good memories will be a sweet comfort to you and your family during this time.)

I understand–I lost a neighbor Christmas week, and though he wasn’t truly family, I’m not “back together” yet. Take care of yourself.

Mirada, thank you so much for the prays, they worked and I do feel blessed, blessed for having my grandmother for 50 years of her 103 year life and blessed for having friends such as yourself with caring hearts. :)

Amazing longevity–I hope she was well and vital for the duration. I imagine she had great stories, and lessons, to share. I’ve only just realized how grandmothers are often more central figures in our lives than our parents, even. I think of the only grandma I knew on a nearly daily basis. Anyway…. you bless me too, friend. So good to see you.

She did have amazing longevity and was pretty good up until a few months ago and even then she could still get around. I was blessed to know all of my grandparents and three of the four lived until 92 and older. It really was / is an honor to have had them so long.
