Many a trip to distant shores

Seen from deck and crows nest high

I pray my return home to Aliveri

Its port, my village, my final trip

Still far from home the wind did blow

Gale ripping sails from masthead and spar

Fierce storm did brew this wretched foe

Fear contagious proving fatally toxic

Men jumping ship as we list and creak

Hull split and torn, I choke on frigid brine

I bid you farewell with great sorrow–I’m dead

That looks like a tough style. Very easy to start with a specific letter, but to end it and retain perfect coherency must have been a challenge.

  This was a hard one to do, but it still was fun. I suppose anything worth doing should be at least a little challenging. :)

  Thank you Pamela, I found it to be much harder than I would have expected. I really wasn’t sure about the flow of it, but I think it got the story across. Give it a try although tricky it still was fun. :)

A wonderfull take on the prompt. I think you managed to maintain coherency all the way. It read like an epitaph.

    It’s a tough one. Finding English words that end with “I” and “k” when you’re under pressure?! Tough! I did this prompt too – coming out soon – more of a struggle than anticipated. But yours looks smooth and effortless. :)
