Unwanted Feeling

Unwanted feeling

Poking at me since my youth

Jealousy–blinds me

I struggle to overcome

This horrible addiction

I think most people have bouts of jealousy. It’s certainly the more common lifelong problem.

I have always suffered with this and really for no reason whatsoever. I wondered why I couldn’t be happy for someone else when things go well, but I am really trying hard to overcome this and feel as though I have made some progress. Slow and steady as the saying goes. :)

Maybe silently think about what you have going for you at the time? That way you realize you have your own victories.

That is exactly what I should do. I really am thankful for everything that I have and should be satisfied with that. Great advice Charles, thank you.

I have found this one (jealousy) to be painful…ouch is right.

      1. Tracesofthesoul Avatar

It is painful and insidious. I am always amazed at the countless people that tell me they are never jealous…not amazed they are never visited by this green slimy snake but astonished how it is not recognized or admitted. True one feels shame but we are human and failings come with that…not recognizing it, I feel can be dangerous to self and others.

Unfortunately I find is so evident in myself although I would guess that others may not see it. I am working very hard to minimize this, but as you say we are human.

Acknowledging it is the hardest part, the other part is shedding it…such a yucky invasive feeling…not fun…for whatever the issue is, know that you are an amzing writer, poet and human (it comes across in your writing), blessings.

Thank you my friend. I wish I knew where it came from because I really don’t have any reason for my jealousy, I have been truly blessed with all that I have in this live. Maybe realizing it is the first step in overcoming it. Time will tell. :)

I know the feeling, Dominic…sometimes is just sneaks up on ya and you wonder where that rat/monster was hiding all that time. Sending you J poison:)

Keep the “J” poison coming, I think it’s starting to work. :)

I finally found it is possible not to struggle against any of it..even the jealousy and neediness, etc.. I think we all have such parts. And so I have practiced embracing. It’s kinda cool.

That is exactly what I am working on, coming to terms with it and moving past it. It isn’t always easy, but I find that it is happening to me far less often. Best of luck on your continued journey. :)
