Can You Hear Their Cries In The Wind

Can you hear their cries in the wind?

Can you smell their desperation?

They fight change with venom,

Covering their adversaries in vile spittel.

Red faced with anger they create crisis

Instilling fear and loathing in the gullible.

Spewing hatred, they seek to divide

Driving a wedge between brothers.

Lurching in their death throes

They claw to remain relevant, but it is futile!

Time is progressing as it always has

While they remain mired in the muck of the past.

Just as the dinosaur was doomed to extinction

So to are they, except they do not yet realize it.

Farewell you carnivorous beasts.

  1. A scary thought at the end that these creatures will one day be extinct. Humans I think you mean. There is much hatred in humans but there is good there too. We have a Saviour from God who saves us all wo believe and will one day bring a new heaven and new earth with no more hatred. I’m not sure your religion but this Saviour is what Christmas is all about. So we won’t all become extinct by our evil. Just my thoughts great work. I can really feel your frustration.

    • Thank you for the comment Mandy. This was more of a political piece referring to the Republican party due to its outdated ideology and the hatred and racism that seems to be permeating it right now. Because of this I think we are looking at the end of this party as we know it. They seem to be trying to lead us backwards in time instead of taking us forward and that I find very disconcerting. Have a Merry Christmas my friend and let us hope that 2016 is a better year than 2015 has been.
