Scarred

Scars, fresh raised and red

Born of stainless razors edge

Bleed…to make me feel

Numb, I do not understand

What flawed design produced me

Sleeves long– Hide the shame

Attempts for naught this hollow fill

Am I all alone

Left to cut and poke and prod

To wake up the walking dead

That’s a pretty good description of it.

Thank you very much. I know it can be a sensitive subject, but it is one that is important to deal with.

We have so many of these ‘walking dead’ among us – if we pooled our resources, there could be enough love to reach each one…

I agree with you, but that is a hefty “if” although it would be nice if it could be reality. :)

Reality doesn’t line up with my pipe dreams very often, I’ve noticed… ;(

No shame in that, I try to be very optimistic because it makes me happy to be that way, but sometimes it ends in disappointment. Stay the way you are. :)

Thank you so much for the dual awards, that is a first for me and I really appreciate it. I intend to spend part of the weekend and a portion of next week getting caught up on posting and responding to awards. I have let these get so far behind, that I really feel bad about it. Thanks again. :)

As a former cutter this was great to read. I think we should have more art and dialogue about cutting. It’s not as simple as people paint it. Bravo on this poem!

Thank you very much, issues such as this need to be addressed openly and without stigma. I appreciate your comment and be well my friend. Enjoy your weekend. :)
