It is a horrible thing to watch someone go through. I am fortunate that I do not suffer from this, but someone close to me does and it is the most helpless feeling when you truly want to help, but can’t. All one can do is be there to support them in any way possible.
Half my family suffers from depression. I’ve been close to it a few times, but I seem to be one of the lucky ones to have some resistance to the ‘family curse’.
I’m glad that you are, we also have had several members of the family who have suffered from depression and sadly it has not always ended well. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to continue to resist this terrible disease.
Thanks. I should be fine as long as I can stay somewhat positive.
Well try to stay positive even when it is hard and you will be fine I’m sure. 🙂
I’d imagine that loving someone who lives with depression is hard…sometimes unbearable and confusing.
I know, because living with myself is pretty damn hard sometimes. 🙂
I am a fellow blogger with a mental illness and I’m currently working on a spiritual memoir entitled “Delight in Disorder: Meditations from a Bipolar Mind”. Currently, I’m working on “The Study” chapter where I reflect on books that have impacted my understanding of mental illness as well as list other works of art (books, movies, visual arts, music) worth exploring.
I’d love for you to visit my site and share what you’ve found helpful. The post is here –
Thank you very much and I wish you the best of luck with your memoir. It takes a great deal of strength to bring such a personal struggle out into the public. I am so impressed by your courage and will certainly check out your site, thank you for sharing it.
I love writing about darkness and light. There is light in the darkness I think- just enough to be reflected by the strong light of another.
Thanks for visiting my site.

Deep depression has to be one of the scariest things to go through.

You are right and I really can’t imagine what the person goes through, but it would have to be absolutely horrible.
Oh come on, I’m sure that you find yourself to be a pleasure to live with. 🙂
I AM a pleasure. But a strong man can hold it down.
See I told you were a pleasure. 🙂
It’s well written and speaks a certain truth that aches. Hope you’re well Dom.
Thank you very much, it is such a sad thing to see. All is well here, thank you for asking. 🙂
Powerful poem. Thanks for sharing it.
