  • Waters Grow Cold

    December 2, 2016

    Waters grow cold

    As the summer sun sets.

    A new season,

With holidays to warm the heart

    Blossom amongst winters frost.

    We give thanks

    With family and friends gathered

    Round our cosy tables.

    An American tradition,

Too oft’ overshadowed by Christ’s Day

    And corporations lust for profits.

We have bastardized all that is good

For Black Friday and our lust for deals.

Step back…is this what is important,

    Are bargains and materialism

What Thanksgiving and Christmas are all about?

    Look to the past,

    Families enjoying the simple things

    Like companionship and familial love.

This is what these holidays are about

These are what we are about.

    It is not about gifts,

    It is not about things,

    It is about friends,

    Family,

    Thanks,

It is about our love for Christ and our fellow man.

NOTE: I realize that Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday are over, but I still think this piece applies to the entire holiday season.

  • A Letter to America From America

    November 20, 2016

Here is a message that many of us have forgotten during this political season. Her message give me hope and I pray that it gives you hope too.

  • The Election Is Over …Thank God!

    November 20, 2016

I wanted to say hello to those of you who follow this simple blog and let you all know how much I truly appreciate it.

I have been very absent over the past few months for a number of reasons, some of them health related while others have been more emotional.  I allowed myself to take our election here in the United States personally.  I know this feeling was not solely felt by me, but by many on both sides of the political spectrum.  I will say this, I was not and am not a supporter of Donald Trump or the Republican Party.  This is no longer the party of Reagan (he had his flaws as well).  As conservative as Ronald Reagan was, he did not display the ugliness of Donald Trump, his campaign, nor his surrogates. President Elect Trump’s campaign was filled with racism, prejudice, misogyny and outright hate.  Essentially he is the living definition of a sociopath.

This being said, there are a number of things that I have been seeing from the Democratic party that I  believe to my core are the wrong things to do to affect change in both the party and the country after this historic and bizarre election.

First, I have received numerous emails from the Democratic Party in the state which I reside to do everything we can to “fight” Trump.  This is just what the Republicans did to our current president, President Barack Obama.  This attitude does nothing but feed the division within this country.  This does not mean that we should not fight policies that are in opposition to our platform, but we must also mold policies that are being promoted by Trump and the Republicans that can be made to fit at least some of our agenda.  We can not spend the next four years opposing every single policy proposition just because it was proposed by a Republican…this is what the Republicans had done for the last eight years…it wasn’t right then and it would not be right now and ultimately serves no positive purpose.  Secondly, we must work harder to detail and explain to the American people what our policy propositions are, how they will positively affect us and how we will pay for them.  This election was not won on policy at all, but instead on personal attacks.  The person that was better at promoting their negative message ultimately was the person that won.

I will say that although I am disappointed in the American people both for who they elected and the low voter turnout numbers, I will hope for the best for this nation, for short of violent overthrow, Donald Trump will be America’s next president.

In the end, I will respect the office, but hold his feet to the fire to make him prove that he can be the President of all the people…including me.

Thanks for hearing my not so eloquent rant about the state of America. I have so much more I want to say, but I’m sure you all have your own problems and definitely better things to do.

  • The End Is No End

    November 20, 2016

    The end is no end.

Throughout life we sense the past,

    A time before our time,

    We call it deja vu.

    We’ve been here,

    We’ve met before,

But we cannot place when or where.

    Is this just a sense

Or a glimpse into a time before our time.

Could we not be going round-and-round,

Traveling time until we get it right,

    Coming back and back

    Until we perfect our journey?

Perhaps God requires us to earn our right

    To join him in Heaven,

Learning over the centuries and lifetimes

The things only time can teach.

    We are flawed creatures,

    Attracted to sin,

Given to the allure of its pleasures.

Like children, we must learn our lessons

    Under the tutelage of God,

Before we can be admitted into His

    Kingdom of Heaven.

  • The Blink Of An Eye

    The blink of an eye

  • Threats Of Violence

    October 18, 2016

    Threats of violence,

    Assassination condoned

    Where is his outrage!

He stokes the fires of hatred

    Ignoring consequences

    This is disgusting

    And must be squashed abruptly,

    He’s clearly not fit!

Still crowds are cheering for him

    Egging on his fickle rants

    They are lunatics

    Claiming to be patriots,

    When did we devolve.

    This election has choices

And Trump must not be the one!

  • You Non-believers

    October 16, 2016

    You non-believers

What will it take for you to

    Realize the truth

There are things beyond this world

That none of us can explain

    Demons, shadow men

Ghosts lost in between the worlds

    This is nothing new

    Look back to antiquity

    They existed before Christ

  • Alone…

    October 14, 2016

    Alone…

All of the friendships in the world do not change that.

    Born alone,

    Die alone,

No one else can do either for us,

This is as it’s always been.

    Looking to God,

    Looking to our family,

We look to others for comfort,

    But there is nothing,

Only the comfort we find within.

    We fool ourselves thinking otherwise.

Why do we look for solace in acquaintances,

    Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers;

    They cannot travel our journey.

In passing they cannot hold our hands.

This does not mean they do not love us,

Only that they can do nothing,

But wish us well and pray that our journey

Is something greater than a trip to oblivion.

  • He’s Scorching The Earth

    October 14, 2016

    He’s scorching the earth;

    Smell of sulfur permeates

    From Hell’s fiery pit.

    Long buried deep underground

    His minions have arisen;

    Blindly following

    Abaddon’s vile deception

    Like mindless rabble,

    Anarchists legitimized

    By the greatest deceiver.

    Now’s the time for the

    Thundering of the Shofar!

    Time to declare war

    In our fight for decency…

    This nation’s identity.

    We must not succumb

    To conspiracy theories,

    To the Fallen’s lies.

He will not be your savior

    But instead your worst nightmare.

    There’s still time…repent!,

Wake up before it’s too late

    From this horrid dream.

    We deserve better than this

    Better than this Satan’s lies.
