Desert drawn skyward
Where the earth meets with heaven
A blanket of brown
Swallowing all in its path
Like a final curtain call

Some love the rain Some hates the rain Love and hate? Love or hate?

This poem – and the image – reminds me of the dust bowl storms during the 1930’s – all hopes and lives lost…but then, of course, each day is a final curtain call- perhaps.

They do sort of remind of the Dust Bowl, but I think today we are somewhat better prepared to deal with this kind of thing if we heed the warnings.
What an amazing picture!
They are fascinating storms. Coming originally from the east coast, even after 13 years living out here I still find them amazing.
That is one IMPRESSIVE storm …. wow!
How I wish I could send you some of the rain — oh, how I wish!
They are quite amazing and I don’t believe they are seen anywhere else in the U.S. 🙂
Like a miniature Dust Bowl — whoah!
