This poem at The Danforth Anchor is absolutely terrific. I thought I would share it with all of you. Enjoy!
A woman’s body
was built to bring forth life. . .
but it may not always be
of the usual type. . .
she’s also shaped
to allow for
nurture
and raise some ones
to build a future. . .
but this isn’t always
just the issue
of womb-filled hips
or milk duct tissue. . .
the love radiating
from her heart,
then maybe
through her head. . .
her silver tongue
or golden pen
or sweetly singing lungs
or shoulders strong
that can carry many burdens
to let others
move more swift along. . .
No one can say–
not even she,
before it’s done–
how all of this will written be–
her whole life-that-brought-forth-life
story.
Excellent Expression. So True.
I thought so as well.
