I love the simplicity. Maybe that’s why I have a “thing” for Haikus, as well.
Short and sweet. Directly to the point but NOT short on emotion.
As do I (or maybe it has something to do with my short attention span). Thanks again.
MY short attention span. I always tell people that exact reason why I prefer “simpler” poetry (I’ve had an ex call it “elementary” – It made me write harder….so thanks ass hole).
I’m finally comfortable with my words and transforming my emotions into words. Regardless how “elementary” they may sound to some.
I guess the ex didn’t have an appreciation for how hard, even the shorter works are to write. In my case, I have been told that I am at times “verbose” so I have been putting effort into trying to write shorter, or at least more concise poems.
Concise….great word.
The only thing the ex had/has appreciation for is himself and ONLY himself.
By the way….I happen to think you’re a pretty awesome writer. I’ve learned a bit from you, since stalking your page.
Its a shame that your ex was that selfish as you seem to be such nice person. Thank you for the compliment as well…if you keep this up I’m going to get a big head. :)
Ok, I’ll stop. I dislike ego’s anyway. It would probably turn you into a horrible narcisist. ;)
Bah, he is a douchebag.
Over it! ;)
Well we wouldn’t want to turn me into a narcissist now would we. Not to mention all of the new hats I would have to buy to fit my head. :)
Exactly.
Once a child, always a child! Sigh!
Why won’t my parents grow up and see that I’ve grown :-)
Love your Tankas.
Thank you as always. I guess they are a phase I’m going through right now. I’m finding them fun to write. :)

Agreed. Sadly as I’m closer to retirement than infancy you would think this wouldn’t be an issue, but unfortunately sometimes it still is. :)
