A certain way-way-right-wing group from Kansas that likes to incite hatred and intolerance during *funerals* (of all things!) inspired me to make a donation to Southern Poverty Law Center …. in their honor. This haiku makes me think of them. :) And it’s an awesome haiku.
Thank you for the nice comment. I know exactly who you are talking about and they are NOT Christians in my book, they are a disgrace to humanity, every last one of their members.
Not in my book either. They are sick, and sad. And I feel sorry for the kids caught in that terrible group. And I plan to make a donation to Southern Poverty Law Center or SOME group that fights hatred and intolerance every time I hear of them on the news. [phew! take a breath, Jen!] [[Sorry, off the soapbox now.]]
Nothing to be sorry for.:) Your donations to groups that fight this kind of intolerance are truly wonderful. At least you are doing your part to try to stop it and that is admirable.
Felt so helpless … it was all I could think of. Hopefully it helps in some little way. :)
I’m sure that it will help, even if only in a small way. It is still more than most people do. :)
In a weird way I felt it was sort of like voting: don’t vote? don’t gripe. These hateful people represent a special sort of evil. Sadly.
You are correct. It is sad that people like this even exist.
Why is such ‘fire’ and ‘vehemence’ so often found in the eyes of the blind and not the searchers? Have we been burned already by the zealots, leaving room for only scars and tears? Thank you for this reminder to stay active.
