Time for Making Time – A Tanka

Time for making time

To do the things that one loves

What ever that is

Like the wick of a candle

Whose end burns ever closer

  1. So beautiful and so true. I often put off what I dearly love doing in favor of doing what I think I should be doing. It’s kind of the eat-your-vegetables-before-you-get-dessert mentality. It reminds me also of my mom and her china. She never liked to use the good china, thinking that it should be reserved for a special occasion. When her best friend died of breast cancer, she started using the good china for every day occasions. “Life is too precious to waste on waiting for a ‘special occasion,'” she said.
