This road,
Long,
Winding,
Uncharted,
Devoid of footsteps.
I am a trailblazer,
Adventurer,
Explorer,
Magellan.
I am a father,
Husband,
Friend,
Lover.
I am a fighter,
A force of nature,
Brutal in defense of those I love,
Unrelenting.
I am kind,
Generous,
Sympathetic,
Compassionate.
I am living,
Doing the best I can,
Grateful for all I have,
Hopeful for all that I want,
This is the life journey I must walk alone.

Love the short lines in this. Makes the poem a lot more powerful. Though, does one really have to journey alone?
I think that in many ways we do, no one else can live our lives, we may have someone that shares in the journey, but in the end the journey is ours alone to take. Just my opinion. Thanks Charles, I’m glad that you liked it.
That does make sense. Personally, I’m rather big on the traveling as a group thing.
I won’t deny that it is more fun in a crowd…especially if you like the people in it. :)
beautifully expressed
I appreciate that very much, thank you.
Loved your poem, but we’re never alone–God is always with us.
Thank you my friend, I will concede that point. :)
