It really is a wonderful piece of Americana as I said. I have been on parts of it throughout the years and I find it takes me back to a time when life was much simpler in this country and likely not so hurried. Reply
It is still a worthwhile drive though large highways have relegated it to nothing more than a scenic road. This to me makes it worth seeing. :) Reply
I grew up near the Illinois portion of the “Mother Road.” I’m fascinated by its history.
