We always need good friends who listen even when we are unable to speak the words. They have a sense that something is amiss.
That is beautiful and how we should treat each other. Dying is natural and so should be compassion. Your husband sounds like a very good man. Thank you for sharing this.

My husband sat with his best friend and held his hand for hours as he lay dying. Very few words were spoken, but it was comforting to both men.
