It once was a home
Nothing but rubble remains
What are it’s secrets
If only stone and wood talked
Oh…the stories they could tell

Oh…this hits me…very sad.
This one came to me yesterday while I was driving home across the desert. There was an old stone building set back off the highway with the roof gone, no windows and parts of the stone walls lying on the ground. There was nothing else around it for many miles and I wondered when it had been built and what happened that brought it to this condition. I thought it was sad as well. Thank you for commenting. :)
Great image…I’m glad you told me the story behind it! I can see it in my mind now… :-)
My pleasure, I’m glad you enjoyed the poem.
I was wondering, could I use your comment as a story prompt?
Absolutely, please do. :)
Great! I’ll give it a whirl :-) and of course ping you so you can read it1
Thank you so much, I’m looking forward to it. :)
Me too! :-)
Yeah, if only stones and woods can talk, we can hear the stories :-)
If only… :)
:-)
Sad…yet beautiful!
And I wanted to let you know I nominated you for the liebster award! http://whenibecameanauthor.wordpress.com/2013/06/21/liebster-award/
Thank you very much Briana I am honored that you chose me for the award. I hope that you won’t be offended, but I decided some time ago to withdraw from accepting awards. I just love the fact that you all like and comment on my poetry. That is enough praise for me and brings me so much joy.
Oh Dom! Of course I’m not offended! And I understand and respect your decision! I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you, and even though I don’t comment on every poem, I really do love your work! Cheers! Briana
Thank you very much for understanding, I do appreciate it. – Dom :)
So true, so true.
Thank you very much.
So sad to think of homes being abandoned, especially ones with happy memories and loving caretakers.
This piece of music has always made me think of abandoned houses, believe it or not: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATuoxYAsBvs.
Great poem :)
This piece of music is so sad and yet beautiful, I don’t believe that I’ve ever heard it before. Thank you for pointing me to it. :)
You’re very welcome. :)
Hopefully next time I’ll have an opportunity to introduce some HAPPY beautiful music! ;)
Oh – the comment in the video says “if you look deep enough, you’ll see the heart of nature everywhere in music”
Thank you for telling me, unfortunately I couldn’t read it although I should have used Google translate to interpret. Thanks again Jen for introducing me to that piece of music.
