Lovely is the rose
Petals soft it’s anger hides
In thorns menacing
Drawing blood,it’s color joined
This…a match made in heaven

I love the imagery of the rose. I think you have captured it beautifully here. The ‘its thorns menacing’ certainly captivates the sense of pain in something so beautiful.
Thank you very much, I’m glad that you liked it.
This is why I prefer orchids. Pretty and not out for my blood. :D
You ought to try living out here in the southwest, there is hardly a plant or tree that isn’t protected by some really nasty thorns. They are nasty enough that when I trim the bushes in the front yard they are able to penetrate the soles of my shoes. I’m constantly getting stuck. Not fun. :)
Ouch. Boots would be necessary.
You would be surprised, some of these bad boys are 2 – 3 inches long. I’m slowly trying to replace them with less dangerous vegetation. :)
A flamethrower might help too. Sounds vicious. ;)
I’ve thought about it. When I moved here from New Jersey it took a whole lot to get use to it. :)
I can imagine. Jersey isn’t known for having attacking plants.
That it isn’t thank God. :)
You are nominated with Versatile and Very Influential Awards, please check at http://zyoshiko.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/versatile-and-very-influential-awards/. Thank you
Thank you so much and I hope that it does not offend you, but I am no longer accepting awards. I just appreciate the fact that you like my poetry and feel compelled to comment on them. Sorry my friend, but I do appreciate it. :)
Love!
Thank you. :)
