Author’s Note: Monsoon season is here in Arizona and these walls of dust are quite frequent visitors. What an awesome sight.

That is an awesome and terrifying sight. I’d hate to be in front of that thing.
They are pretty incredible to see. The sky goes brown with all the grit in the air, the winds pick up and you can hardly see a thing, of course you wind up with dirt in your eyes if you look into it without eye protection. They really are pretty cool.

Thank you very much. They are really pretty awesome to see, but they do leave a mess in their wake. All I can say is don’t wash the car if they are calling for dust storms. :)
So cool. I’ve only seen a dust wall once. And it was amazing. And tasty. Grit in the teeth. Pattoey!!
They really are very cool. We get a few a year just to keep our dust levels up, very very tasty. :)

Actually it is one of the amazing things that happens during our monsoon season. We don’t always get much rain, but we do certainly have dust. :)
Did you see Stephen Colbert’s segment a while back about haboobs? It was pretty funny!
