I feel different these past few days, wrapped in joy
Tolerance I found where before there was none.
At first I thought, perhaps this was a ploy,
That is until the other changes had begun.
.
Anxiety and jealousy seem much more subdued,
A struggle I’ve struggled with all of my years.
These issues I’d gnash on as if they were food,
Were simply alternatives to facing my fears.
.
Patiences I lost as I grew out of my youth,
Seem to be returning and rearing their heads.
All because I found what I believe is the truth,
Trepidations settle as my old skin is shed.
.
I think what I’ve found is the beginning of peace,
Not the kind that we show towards our fellow men.
No–the kind that’s achieved as our inner turmoils fleeced,
May I never return to that troubled place again.

Sounds like you’ve found peace. Congrats and I hope it lasts forever.
Me too though I certainly don’t expect to never run across some rough patches…that’s just life. :)
Lets hope they’re nothing more than stubbed toes that heal quickly.
I certainly hope not, I am enjoying this new found “feeling” and hope it stays. :)
SEE—THERE IS POSTIVITY!!!!! :)
I knew I had it in me all along, I just had to find it. :)
WAY TO GO…!

I AM SO GLAD TO KNOW THIS!!!!
Me too, thank you for the re-blog my friend. :)
:)
I hope your road is all blue skies from here on, Dom.
Thank you so much. :)
Glad to hear what sounds like a positive development for you, Dom.
It is definitely something positive that I hope carries on for my lifetime. :)
Good luck with that hope and endeavor, Dom.
I love this. I wish to get to this place….someday. Oh – a little note on Yiddish spelling – nosh with an ‘a’. xx
You will when you are ready, you just need to want it bad enough. Interesting fact, even though I missed a spelling correction in my editing, “gnosh”.
Nosh is a funny word. I have seen it spelled gnosh but I have seen it spelled nosh. My mom worked at a kosher bakery many years ago. It was called Posh Nosh;)
Maybe my misspelling wasn’t so bad after all. :)
Feel this poem…growing, learning from walking along the path of life until we learn the lessons of tolerance and peace. Great poem Dom, thanks for sharing it!
My pleasure, I happen to be on somewhat of a spiritual journey right now and really have found some greater peace through it.
I realized that through your poem. These are special moments to be cherished…I’m very happy for you! :-)
Thank you my friend. :)

May your intention not to return to that troubled place again. I don’t think you actually CAN return to any place or state in the past, troubled or not, but I know what you mean– there are always places similar enough that can return, but they, too shall pass, I believe.
Thanks again for your continued reading and Likes on my blog.
Hi Dom,
In my last comment I meant to say, “May your intention not to return to that troubled place again become manifest for you.”
Best,
Elaine
Thank you so much Elaine, I believe that I have changed for the better and don’t ever see myself going back to my troubled place. I hope that all is well with you my friend. – Dom
Thank you, Dom. Things are pretty good with me. It’s good to hear the same is true for you.
Dom, this lovely poem shows facets of your craft and of the man behind it that are fascinating! You just ripped open your metaphorical shirt and said. “This is me, warts and all…fears, misgivings, doubts…everything. I’m making progress, so cut me some slack!” Way to go, Dom! We’re all in this together and hurt where you hurt…it’s just that most of us won’t self-reveal!
Warmest Respect and Admiration,
Ron
Thank you so much for your comment Ron, it is amazing to me, I really feel that I have changed for the better in a very short time. Part of this I believe is that I admitted some of my faults and let them go replacing them with much more positive things. I know that I have a very long way to go, a lifetime in fact, to continue working on myself, but I guess that really is all that any of us can do. Blessing to you my friend. :)
