A nice tribute to those whose flowers & crosses stand by the road.
There is one down the road from where I live & I pass another one every day on my way home from work. So sad.
It is so sad and I have found myself passing by without hardly thinking about them. I make a point of trying to remember that these were people that others loved whether I knew them or not.
The timing of this post is quite interesting. A few days ago, I was sitting in traffic with my boys. Since I moved, I can only take a few choice roads to get there. One is a two lane road – no sidewalks, 50 mph. As we moved slowly, due to a traffic light, we inched up beside a white cross. On this cross was a picture – one that could be seen perfectly. The face was clear. I pointed this out to the boys. We see so many of these but never a face to which one belongs. It was touching in a sad way, of course, but we also felt a bit more connected to the fact that these are not just lawn decorations. They are so much more. xx
This one just popped into my head out of nowhere, but thinking about it, these are things that most of us see at least once a day and never really give too much thought to. I am just as guilty of this as the next person and wish that I weren’t. These crosses are there because of some personal tragedy and even just a moment of reflection would be better than nothing even though we didn’t know them. I hope that you are having a very nice weekend.

This is truly beautiful! Tragic, all the same, but the word choice you used here worked perfectly. Nice job!
Thank you very much, I appreciate it very much.
