This is true. I saw yesterday in the news that the Mega Millions Jack Pot is wayyyyy up there. So many people wasting their money on tickets for something that will never transpire. Yes, they hope for the chance of a lifetime – I can understand – but why spend money one cannot afford to do it?
That is really what it comes down to, spending money that one doesn’t have for a very, very slim chance of winning.
The lottery is a definite addiction for some. I know people who try to find the secret to winning and analyze patterns. They never win.
It is pure chance no matter what anybody says and the odds are awful, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to try if you don’t over do it.
Some people just need hope.
I know they do and I certainly don’t begrudge anyone their dreams, but my wife and I went to the casino Saturday night for a couple of hours and some of the people gambling there could have used the money they lost for some very essential necessities of life like clothes, shoes, teeth, etc. I just find this very sad.
That’s when it gets scary and sad.
Yes sir it is.
Ah yes… The lotto?
Great poem!
All it takes is a dollar and a dream as one state lottery division’s slogan goes. :)
Oh my….!
Oh my indeed.
