Poetry Prompt Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie – Heeding Haiku With Ha: To Feel The Night
Ugh. Nearly forgot about mosquitoes. Always causing trouble.
Yes, I grew up with these little monsters and I can honestly say I don’t miss them one bit.
They’re all over the place in the summer. Strange thing is that I rarely saw them in Florida.
That is surprising, although as many times as I have been to Florida, I can’t say that I remember them being a real problem, weird.
I was told once is that they put sulfur into the water, which prevents the mosquitoes from laying eggs in most of the ponds and lakes. Though it makes the water smell a little.
I never heard that, but I know that it would drive me away so why not the mosquitoes. :)
The water did have a slight sulfur smell before it was cleaned for human use. Such a strange place.
You provide a surreal image of the night in the last haiku… clear images, with a sensory and emotional touch. Well done. :-)
Thank you so much my friend, I appreciate your kind words. :)
Very well done! I’m glad you did this prompt – !
Me too, I enjoyed doing it very much. Thank you Jen. :)
You’re welcome!
Oh wow, Dominic, I love this…there is something mysterious about this blood moon. I missed it the night of due to rain and cloudy skies but the following night the moon was huge!!.
I’m so glad, I loved writing them. Thank you my friend. :)
Great haiku Dom…though I do so hate those little vampires ;-)
So do I, they really are quite the little blood-suckers aren’t they. :)
yes indeed! ;-)
