Broken Hearts And Bones

Broken hearts and bones

Pain of body and of soul

No less torturous

What it means to be alive

In this material world

At What Point Doth Pain Subside

At what point doth pain subside

Of this I’ve oft times wondered.

Likely not ‘til the time I’ve died

          Contrary wouldst be a blunder.

It Isn’t My Place

It isn’t my place

To impose judgement on you

I am not perfect

.

My flaws glisten in the sun

Like a mirror to my soul

Life Of Deja-Vu

Life of deja-vu

Pain, suffering, love, joy

Over and over

Isn’t this what it’s about

So why not just embrace it

Retaliation

Retaliation

Or at least the thought of it

Over little things

For this I have no excuse

Except for being human

I long to be more

Much more than this petty man

One that’s full of love

Unconsciously forgiving

WIth not one expectation

Even this is hard

This one solitary thing

Before the gauntlet

It is called being human

This one–I cannot escape

Shallow Emotions

Shallow emotions;

Ones locked away from the world

Scratch–claw their way out.

Embarrassment the result,

Succumbing to our frailties.

In being human

At times we’ll stumble and fall

Getting cut and bruised.

Forgive yourself and move on

For the best is yet to come.
