Are We Not Called to Greatness

Are we not called to greatness

As our primal spirit demands

Promised to all but the faithless

The future is in our hands

Before our eyes destiny unfolds

As beckoned by our will

In our minds and hearts and souls

Its progress won’t be stilled

So if we journey deep within

To the place where essence lives

Returning to where creation begins

Finding peace the universe gives

Time Doth Heal All Wounds (Haiku)

Time doth heal all wounds

So the unenlightened claim

Scars are permanent

Love’s Storm

Love’s storm crashes

Upon the rocky shore of my heart.

Teasing blood and soul

Into tumultuous sea.

Catching each drop in the riptide;

Dragging it under,

Caressing it with tender arms,

Diluting the pain

Until two become fused.

One heart and one soul;

Fluid as the raging storm

That is our love.

Oh The Lies We Tell (Tanka)

Oh the lies we tell

To deceive our reflection

But fooling no one

The mirror–superficial

Cannot reveal the true soul

Sweetness Fills The Air

Sweetness fills the air;

Scent of lilac and jasmine

Infused in my soul.

Like the tenderest embrace

You and I have become one.

Is this not true love,

The truest love known to man;

Eternally bound,

Two star-crossed lovers

Hearts beating in unison?

I say that it is!

Our bond cannot be broken,

Deaths grip holds no sway,

Matters of the heart survive

Beyond this mortal world

And into the next.

Our passions destiny,

Impenetrable;

Is our armor and our strength,

Warding off those who chastise.

Torment of Demons (Haiku)

Torment of demons

Live within my heart and soul

A mental typhoon

Asleep She Lays On Sacred Field

Asleep she lays on sacred field,

Angelic glow about her beams,

Draped in white my heart doth yield,

Far beyond my mortal dreams.

~

I fathom not why me she chose,

Undeserving, I most surely be,

Heavenly creature beyond paling rose,

This fool adrift on earthly sea.

~

I kneel before thy silken throne,

In prayer to one, the God most high,

For kindness that he hath shown,

This gift of you– without I’d die.

~

I know not where this path might lead,

Or when my love we forever part,

Cherishing time, its waste doth bleed,

Forever alive within my heart.

~

Sleep well my love in tender dream,

Assured through faith that I lie by your side,

To hold you forever in highest esteem,

This sacred promise by which I abide.

This Blanket Of Snow

This blanket of snow,

Holds no greater chill than that of my soul,

Tangled in frigid fingers of emotion,

Drowning in a veritable ocean,

Whose frothy foam I call home.

~

I ask not for your sympathy,

Desire not your empathy,

This road I must travel alone,

A path my heart to me has shown,

Until my thirst has been sated.

~

To struggle forth and never find,

Reeks with havoc a fragile mind,

Constantly reaching to dull the pain,

No matter how subtle to keep me sane,

Darkness hides the tears I grieve.

~

Let not this smile I outward show,

Mislead you that I carefree go,

Buried deep within sullen core,

Bolted and locked the iron door,

My feelings trapped in dungeon black.

~

I pray one day to find the key,

To let in light so that I might see,

The gift of worth in this life I’ve led,

Before I join the cold stone dead,

On a sea of stark eternity.

Spent – A Tanka

Spent, my heart racing

Pounding to the souls rhythm

Mute before love pure

You, the muse granting me breath

For without I would perish

Blistering Cobbles – A Haiku

Blistering cobbles

Setting fire to foots soul

On this road to Hell
