Fragrant after spring time rains

Victim of summer

Hell On Earth Has Come

Hell on earth has come

Scorching both sand and pavement

Sonoran summer

NOTE: As I post this it is 103 degrees F and we have not yet reached the hottest part of our day yet. The projected temperature by Saturday is slated to be 118 degrees F.  Summer has arrived in Arizona!

Wave of heat rising

Into the blue clear abyss

Summertime desert

She’s made inhabitable

By man’s ingenuity

Summer’s Heat, July

Summer’s heat, July

Birds…bees sing their joyful songs

By nature’s design.

Sadly we too oft’ ignore

Beauty that lay before us.

Distracted by life

All just to try to survive

We get very lost.

Perhaps if we took a step back

What we’re missing would be found.

Look to the sky, grass,

Look to the simplicity in life

For what’s important.

This is what Mother gave us

To keep from going insane.

Warm Sun on My Face

Warm sun on my face

Desert breeze whisking my skin

Southwestern summer

The desert knows no seasons

For it is its own master

Summer Upon Us (Haiku)

Summer upon us

The desert knows no seasons

With winter’s goodbye

Leaf Saunters Downward (Haiku)

Leaf saunters downward

Unable to cling to life

Winter has conquered

Coolness Of Morning (Haiku)

Coolness of morning
Welcomed after summer’s heat
Nature’s refreshment

The Cricket’s Swan Song (Haiku)

The cricket’s swan song
Farewell with seasons change
Returning in spring

The Cool Morning Air (Tanka)

The cool morning air
Dew clinging to window panes
How quickly things changed
Now that fall is upon us
First snow can’t be far behind
