Youth breeds fearlessness
Something traded for wisdom
Or lost to aging
Only by progenies birth
Is their error realized

Youth breeds fearlessness
Something traded for wisdom
Or lost to aging
Only by progenies birth
Is their error realized

Our freedom of speech
Guaranteed since inception
Undeniable
But just because we can speak
Doesn’t always mean we should
.

Sullied by liars
Sleight-of-hand and trickery
Their fickle trademark
Yet we embrace with naivety
–Split-tongued devils among us
.

Societies poor
Feeding the coffers with cash
They cannot afford
All on a sliver of hope
To gamble their way to wealth
.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Sky–clear glass ceiling
One can almost see heaven
Clean and bright above
Passing from life into death
Could this be what it looks like
~
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
“A little more time”
The prayer with each passing day…
With every second
Until it runs out
Watching hopes–dreams fade away
~
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Heartfelt forgiveness
Should be our aspiration
Not just empty words
The lesson passed before us
I hope we weren’t distracted
.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
My past calls my name
Like an enemy taunting
Craving reaction
But the words fade to silence
On the reinvented me
~
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
With passing of thanks
My spirit has been renewed
Like I’ve been reborn
Along with the coming year
Each one gives me greater hope
~

Call me Magellan
My sextant guides my voyage
Into the unknown
Like so many before me
The thrill is in the journey
