Diamonds, silver, gold
You never asked for treasure
My love was enough
Nothing more could I have asked
From this uncertain world

Diamonds, silver, gold
You never asked for treasure
My love was enough
Nothing more could I have asked
From this uncertain world
~

More than life itself
‘Tis you I love most deeply
That I would give all
My heart and my soul are yours
In this world and beyond
~

Spent, my heart racing
Pounding to the souls rhythm
Mute before love pure
You, the muse granting me breath
For without I would perish

Something so simple
We make so complicated
Love, a smile, their dimples
Can we never be placated
We make things so hard
When we should be accepting
Love is written in the stars
But too late we’re left reflecting
~

Clouds, grey and foreboding hang heavy as my heart.
This unsculpted field of weeds and stone lays before me,
Watered by tears and sorrow,
Sadness of lost love, loss of cherished companions,
Lives sacrificed to the natural or tragic.
It matters not how or why to this pain so intense,
For with each thought of death the abyss broadens,
Taking miniscule pieces of us beyond.
Flowers once vibrant dry and blacken,
Bowing before their marble master in death.
Refreshed for a time, but soon forgotten,
Left to crumble and scatter in the wind.
Not for lack of caring or sympathy, but resign,
No more to pursue this self-torment and pity.
What good does it do for those passed,
Is not life to be walked amongst the living?
Leaving the dead to their eternal rest;
We will reunite with those beyond our touch,
One day, in the place of our faith,
Joined together in a future unknown.

My heart cries for you
Helplessly twisted in knots
But what can I do
Comfort is all I can give
While you are curled in grief
Wiping tears away
Embracing you as lover
And as dearest friend
You are my reason to live
My love and my everything
~
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Walk alone with me
On these streets I’ve paved with gold
Take my outstretched hand
Offered as a sign of love
And a bond never broken
~
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Catapult my feelings to the sky
Scattered to poles by twisting winds
Revealed my heart so you may lie
Within my arms, true love begins
~
To you my words no justice do
My tongue in knots, I make no sense
Conduct portrays my emotions true
Offered up with no presumed pretense
~
I choose to pose my love in verse
Too shy to speak these heartfelt words
My love exposed, flowery and terse
In these my heart is garishly heard
~
I have no qualms in sharing my soul
It was meant at birth to be given to you
Without your hand I’ll never be whole
Through God and my faith I construe
~
Distress me no more with nary response
This agony more torturous than death
Mutter your reply, I urge you at once
Before drawing in my final breath.
