Worry not my love
I’m made whole wrapped in your arms
And warmed by your kiss
I desire nothing more
Than to be cherished by you

I Ask For Nothing (Sonnet)
I ask for nothing yet you give me all I need
Could this be what the sages meant when they spoke of love
Perhaps like the roses thorny prick doth bleed
Nary tainting the snow white of the purest dove
.
Were I ever to beg my darling, of you my pardon
I doubt you not that forgiveness would be mine
Assured that your heart would not surely harden
This–I take to my heart as a sign
.
The gift you offer out of nothing but passion
I hold close, clutching it tightly to my still heaving breast
Through these long centuries it has never left fashion
On my knees before God to you my love I confessed
.
All this–I pray that I have not taken for granted
For your love I cherish that may ne’er be supplanted

Love’s Storm
Love’s storm crashes
Upon the rocky shore of my heart.
Teasing blood and soul
Into tumultuous sea.
Catching each drop in the riptide;
Dragging it under,
Caressing it with tender arms,
Diluting the pain
Until two become fused.
One heart and one soul;
Fluid as the raging storm
That is our love.

Sweetness Fills The Air
Sweetness fills the air;
Scent of lilac and jasmine
Infused in my soul.
Like the tenderest embrace
You and I have become one.
Is this not true love,
The truest love known to man;
Eternally bound,
Two star-crossed lovers
Hearts beating in unison?
I say that it is!
Our bond cannot be broken,
Deaths grip holds no sway,
Matters of the heart survive
Beyond this mortal world
And into the next.
Our passions destiny,
Impenetrable;
Is our armor and our strength,
Warding off those who chastise.

A Cold Kiss (Sonnet)
A cold kiss lay frozen on crimson lips
His tears could not thaw her icy chill
Thy soul to sea as fare so many ships
Whose lose pain could never fill
O’ slab, coarse for so delicate a flower
How I wish that I could soften thee
Yet I have it not in my mortal power
Into the hands of God must it be
Fairest maiden how I long to offer thou comfort
Though separated many worlds apart
Couldst I have quenched thy terminable hurt
Nay–sorrow be still my beating heart
.
O’ my dearest Juliet, I am dead to this world without thee
With this bitter nectar reunited soon we shall be

Diamonds, Silver, Gold (Tanka)
Diamonds, silver, gold
You never asked for treasure
My love was enough
Nothing more could I have asked
From this uncertain world

Simple Phrase
The simple phrase, “I love you.”,
Not to be worn on the bottom of a shoe.
When said to another it must be true,
Or angers wrath will most surely ensue.
~
Far too often it’s said most light,
The words flow free without a fight.
All in attempt to bed at night,
With no qualms of wrong or right.
~
What happened to the time it was hard to say,
Waiting, obsessing for many a day.
Rehearsing the moment in so many ways,
Knees getting weak, wobble and sway.
~
“I love you.” has power over human heart,
Think before speaking this phase you start.
If said without meaning the two will part,
The heart will break and soul depart.
~
Handle with care these mystical words,
If not heartfelt they’re best deferred.
Emotions strained, feelings stirred,
“I love you.” must be mutually incurred.

Birth Of Day (Aubade)
Awake my love to witness birth of day,
Greeted by java’s scent and morning dove’s song.
Hurry, hurry my love for I cannot stay,
Approaching my time to depart; it won’t be long.
.
These lilies fresh I cut for you,
Gently placed in bedside vase.
Moist with cool early morning dew;
Unwrap yourself from linen and lace.
.
Awake my love to bodies tender touch,
Do not forsake this dawns advance.
For this heart is filled with love so much,
Pierce not my heart with slumbers lance.
.
Does the sun not warm thy angelic face,
Arise dearest love and take my hand.
A gentle touch to your cheek I trace;
Place your feet upon this cherished land.
.
Awake my love to witness birth of day.

According to Wikipedia, an aubade is a morning love song (as opposed to a serenade, which is in the evening), or a song or poem about lovers separating at dawn.[1] It has also been defined as “a song or instrumental composition concerning, accompanying, or evoking daybreak”.[2]
In the strictest sense of the term, an aubade is a song from a door or window to a sleeping woman.[3] Aubades are generally conflated with what are strictly called albas, which are exemplified by a dialogue between parting lovers, a refrain with the word alba, and a watchman warning the lovers of the approaching dawn.[3]
Aubades were in the repertory of troubadours in Europe in the Middle Ages. An early English example is in Book III of Chaucer‘s Troilus and Criseyde. The love poetry of the 16th century dealt mostly with unsatisfied love, so the aubade was not a major genre in Elizabethan lyric.[original research?][citation needed]
Asleep She Lays On Sacred Field
Asleep she lays on sacred field,
Angelic glow about her beams,
Draped in white my heart doth yield,
Far beyond my mortal dreams.
~
I fathom not why me she chose,
Undeserving, I most surely be,
Heavenly creature beyond paling rose,
This fool adrift on earthly sea.
~
I kneel before thy silken throne,
In prayer to one, the God most high,
For kindness that he hath shown,
This gift of you– without I’d die.
~
I know not where this path might lead,
Or when my love we forever part,
Cherishing time, its waste doth bleed,
Forever alive within my heart.
~
Sleep well my love in tender dream,
Assured through faith that I lie by your side,
To hold you forever in highest esteem,
This sacred promise by which I abide.
