Allergic to E Challenge

Thank you Carol at writersdream9.wordpress.com for choosing me to take part in this challenge, I enjoyed it very much.

The rules are as follows:

  • Write a paragraph
  • Do not use any words that include the letter “e” in their spelling
  • Challenge at least 5 others to do the same

My Paragraph:

Blood flows from my mouth.  That airbag hit with such fury that it split my lip. What was that fawn doing standing in my way?  I couldn’t hit him, so my victim was a guard rail which took my car and my lip with it.  Waiting for a cop to show up was agonizing and with all of this blood on my shirt I look as if I am a shooting fatality.  All I know is that if I had to do it again I would…without vacillation.

Nominations:

  1. Emma at emma1951.wordpress.com
  2. Jen at blogitorloseit.com
  3. Serena at journeyofmst.com
  4. Rosy at sharingmemyselfandi.wordpress.com
  5. Celestine at readinpleasure.wordpress.com

If you do not wish to participate that is perfectly fine, I just wanted you to know that I find you all very talented and that I enjoy your writing very much.  Have fun with it if you choose…it really is quite challenging.

Hawks Call For More War

Hawks call for more war

A peaceful resolution

Is the last resort

Someone I think is confused

When shedding blood is first choice

Wave of heat rising

Into the blue clear abyss

Summertime desert

She’s made inhabitable

By man’s ingenuity

Pointing Out Problems

Pointing out problems

Does not a solution make,

Trump is no genius!

Those of his ilk made this mess

Now you think he can fix it.

The boy who cried wolf

That is all he really is

…You’ve fallen for it.

National Rifle Association

Never enough death for their liking

Always responding with “more guns”

This never seems to solve anything

It simply exacerbates the problem

Our constitution was meant to be fluid

Not fixed in the past

As times change so must it change

Lest we be captive to our founders

Read Jefferson

In his infinite wisdom he prayed it to progress

Fitting the needs of future generations

Left to our own vices we have failed

Every time a death occurs with gun-in-hand

Aren’t the lives lost worthy of discussion

Society says it has progressed

Sadly…I do not see it

Only more violence met with the promise of violence

Calls for change go unheeded

Instead they are met with angry rhetoric

Attacking anyone who disagrees

Toughening of gun laws is not outrageous

It is common sense

Only a savage society would disagree

Now let the games continue

Always happy to see me

Broken by living

An old man lies fetally

Praying for his death

Torturous life on the street

Trades its mercy for your soul

Feeding On Our Fears

Feeding on our fears,

Our bones ripe for the picking,

Vultures every one.

Everyday a new horror

New people, places and things.

You must be gifted

WIth visions of the future

At your fingertips.

Can you sense the sarcasm

Dripping from each written word?

With an artist’s flare

You paint the grimmest picture

Of Hell here on earth

Done just for your benefit

And this nation’s war machine.

With impure motives

Your aim is not to protect

It is to profit,

Using blood as currency

To swell your coffers.

Now I must ask you

With sincere undue respect…

Define terrorist!

Not exclusive to Islam

So…if the shoe fits wear it.

Two Magnets Are We

Two magnets are we

Drawn together by our love

Match made in Heaven

Walking Arm-In-Arm

Walking arm-in-arm

Out of love and for balance

Joys of getting old
